Several components come together to form the braking system of a car, consisting of parts like the calipers, pads, and rotors. All these parts play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of your vehicle. The brakes function in stopping the wheels of the car. When you press your brake pedal, brake fluid goes into your brake caliper. Your caliper squeezes your brake pad onto your brake rotor, which causes you to stop or slow down. All these parts working seamlessly together every time you press your brake pedal. If there is a problem with one or more of these braking parts, you will have a hard time slowing down or stopping your vehicle when you need to. Worn brake pads and rotors may cause grinding or squealing noises while braking. A broken brake line will not allow brake fluid to flow where it needs to go. You may have a spongy pedal or the brake pedal may go straight to the floor if a brake line is broken or leaking. Your master cylinder holds all of the brake fluid and if that is leaking, you may have some of the same issues. You might also have a low brake fluid light lit on your dashboard.
